MediSave Required Amount To Be Raised to $18,000

From 1 January 2009, the Required Amount for MediSave will be raised from the current $14, 000 to $18,000, after adjusting for inflation. The Required Amount will increase by $2,500 (in 2003 dollars) each year until it reaches $25,000 (in 2003 dollars) on 1 January 2013.

The First Dormitory for Maids Opens on Nov 1 2008

The first dormitory for maids is set to open its doors on November 1, but so far, no maid agencies have signed up to house their maids there.

The dormitory in Woodlands can house up to 400 maids with a boarding charge of S$25 per maid a day.
